Srinagar, Feb 14 (KF): Jammu and Kashmir is gearing up for the season’s first major snowfall, expected to blanket the region between February 17th and 21st.
Higher reaches like Gulmarg, Sonamarg, Pahalgam, and several mountain passes are predicted to receive heavy to very heavy snowfall, painting the landscape in a winter wonderland.
Areas in the plains are also anticipated to experience moderate to heavy rain, accompanied by a few inches of snow.
This significant snowfall could disrupt travel plans, with road closures and potential flight cancellations.
Residents and tourists alike are advised to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts and take necessary precautions.
Those residing in higher areas should be particularly vigilant of the increased risk of avalanches during and after the snowfall. (KF)
