Body of local sledge rider retrieved at Thajwas Glacier in Sonamarg

Ganderbal, June 03: The body of missing local sledge rider retrieved from the snow cavity at Thajwas Glacier Sonamarg here on Monday morning.

An official told KNS that the body of the missing sledge rider who was missing from yesterday after, in a tragic incident three persons including two tourists fell down into a snow cavity at Thajiwas Glacier in Sonamarg, was retrieved from the snow cavity.

Official said that the body was shifted to PHC Sonamarg for medico legal formalities and the deceased has been identified as Manzoor Ahmad Khan Son of Mohd Yousuf Khan resident of Haknar Gund.

Pertinent to mention that the two tourists who were fell down in to the snow cavity at Thajiwas Glacier were rescued by locals and Ganderbal Police.

Meanwhile Ganderbal Police have taken cognizance of the incident and started investigation regarding the case. (KNS)
