Traffic to remain suspended tonight on Jammu-Srinagar national highway for repairs

Srinagar, June 08 (KF): The traffic on 270-km Jammu-Srinagar national highway will remain suspended between Nashri and Banihal stretch tonight for urgent repairs, a traffic department official said on Saturday.

The vehicular traffic from both sides on the highway, the only all weather road linking Kashmir with rest of the country, will remain suspended from 6 pm Saturday till the completion of the repair work, the official said.

“No movement of any kind of vehicle including Fresh perishable/Livestock will be allowed on NH-44 today on 08-06-2024 (Saturday) after 6 pm from Qazigund towards Ramban, similarly no vehicular movement shall be allowed from Nagrota (Jammu) after 5 pm and from Udhampur 6 pm. Commuters are advised to avoid journey on NH-44 till the work is completed”, the officials informed. (KF)
