Srinagar, June 27: In a significant development aimed at curbing terrorism-linked finances, the Baramulla police have attached properties worth crores belonging to five Pakistan-based terror handlers. The attachment order for 9 kanals of land was executed following directives from the Hon’ble Court Baramulla.
Identified as Bashir Ah Ganie, Mehraj-ud-Din Lone, Ghulam Mohd Yatoo, Ab Rehman Bhat, and Ab Rashid Lone, these individuals are accused of actively supporting terrorist activities from across the border. Their properties, located in various areas including Tilgam, Khargam, Wanigam Payeen, and Satreseeran, were seized under sections of the Criminal Procedure Code and linked to case FIR No. 04/2008 under the Explosive Substances Act, Indian Arms Act, and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act at PS Kreeri.
A police spokesperson stated, “The action to attach these properties was initiated as part of our ongoing efforts to disrupt the financial networks supporting terrorism. These assets were identified during meticulous investigation conducted by the police.”
This move is expected to strike a significant blow to the logistical and financial infrastructure that sustains terrorism in the region. The police have reaffirmed their commitment to combatting terrorism and ensuring peace and security in Kashmir.
The operation was carried out meticulously under the supervision of senior officials, reflecting a collaborative effort between law enforcement and judicial bodies to uphold national security interests.
