No significant weather activity in J&K from Aug 23 onwards: MeT

Srinagar, Aug 20: Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Tuesday predicted no significant weather activity in Kashmir division from August 23 onwards.

It also predicted generally cloudy weather with light to moderate rain/thunder at many places of J&K today.

On August there is a possibility of generally cloudy weather with light to moderate rain/thundershower at many places of Jammu & Kashmir, an official of Meteorological Centre Srinagar said.

He however predicted no significant weather conditions in Kashmir division from August 23 onwards.

He added that early morning showers over Jammu division to continue.

The official warned of intense showers (brief period) and heavy rainfall in Jammu division, stating it may lead to flashfloods, landslides, mudslides and shooting stones over vulnerable places of Jammu and Kashmir on August 20.

He said the region may experience rise in day temperature from August 23 onwards.
