Srinagar, Sep 30 (KF): An unidentified militants has been killed during the ongoing encounter in the Yedipora area of Pattan in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
An official told TK that the Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the Yedipora area of Pattan in north Kashmir following input about Militant movement in the area.
During the cordon, the holed-up Militants opened fire upon forces, triggering an exchange of gunfire.
One militants has been killed during the following exchange of gunfire, who are yet to identify the official said.
Meanwhile in Shopian encounter that raged early morning in the Chitragam area of the south Kashmir district, no firing has been heard since the initial exchange of gunfire.
After, the initial contact, no contact was established, the searches are still going on, an official said.
Sources informed TK that initially a few gunshots were heard after which a group of Militants has escaped.
