Re-voting Ordered in Pakistan at Several Polling Stations

Islamabad, Feb 11 (KF):  The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has ordered re-polling at 26 polling stations across the country following reports of voting materials being snatched or damaged. This comes after the February 8th general elections and as the counting process nears its final stages.

The decision to hold re-elections stems from complaints alleging that a crowd of outrageous people” destroyed voting materials, hindering the fair conduct of the polls at those specific locations. While the exact locations and details of the incidents remain unclear, the ECP’s action underscores the ongoing challenges in ensuring complete electoral integrity in Pakistan.

This development adds another layer of complexity to an already tense electoral environment, with major political parties anxiously awaiting the final results. While the impact of the re-polling on the overall outcome remains to be seen, it highlights the importance of upholding electoral transparency and addressing concerns of potential irregularities.
