Anantnag, Aug 06 (KF): Principal Secretary,PW( R&B), Shailendra Kumar,who is also Incharge Secretary for District Anantnag today visited Anantnag and took review of the development activities taken up under District Capex, 2022- 23, CSS, JJM and public welfare programmes in a meeting with DDC Anantnag, Dr.Piyush Singla at Dak Banglow, Anantnag.
SSP Anantnag, Ashish Mishra, Principal GMC, Dr. Tariq Qureshi, ADDC, Anantnag, were also present on the occasion.All sectoral and District heads of departments attended the meeting.
District Development Commissioner presented the overall position of developmental activities, taken up in District Capex before the Chair alongwith status of works undertaken for competition under CSS and JJM. He particularly apprised the chair about the Special efforts taken by the district administration in Public Service Delivery like ‘Sukoon’, for Quick Relief Disbursement, ‘Pukaar’ for 24×7 Grievance Redressal and other welfare and IT initiatives.
DDC also apprised the chair about various initiatives taken up for livelihood improvements in district especially in developing Homestays at Pahalgam ,Honey Processing Plants across the district and in improving work execution cycle, capacity buliding and trainings of PRIs in the district.
Principal Secretary took sector wise review of the District Capex, 2022- 23 and emphasised upon all developmental sector heads to accelerate the pace of developmental activities so that all works are competed within time limits.
He impressed upon concerned to work with extra zeal and dedication in improving the performance in their respective sectors. He sought feedback from department heads on the various developmental and welfare issues.
During detailed deliberations, he took stock of the functioning of departments including R&B,RDD, Jal Shakti, Health and Medical Education, School education, PDD, Social welfare, Horticulture, Agriculture, Fisheries, YSS, and others.
He instructed upon concerned to improve progress under various ambitious projects and schemes like MGNREGA, PMAY, (U & R), PMDP, Mumkin, NSAP, PM Kisan, and others.
He also reviewed ambitious Jal Jeevan Mission and sought continuous supervision over the works taken under the Mission and added all concerned need to work with utmost dedication so as to maximise the reach of benefits to the people.
While reviewing the Power sector, he instructed for further augmentation of Distribution network in the district by way of adding more recieving stations, transmission lines and transformers.
Principal Secretary also stressed upon the need to improve tendering and work allotment processes in order to ensure timely completion of the works as well as to ensure quality and durable asset creation. (KF)
