Man kills brother in Sopore, Arrested

Baramulla, Feb 06 (KF):  A man has been killed by his brother in a scuffle that broke out in Wadoora area of Sopore in morth Kashmir’s Baramulla district, reports said.

Reports reaching Kashmir First said that 22-year-old Abid Rashid Bhat was critically injured after he was beaten by his own brother, identified as Tawseef Ahmad Bhat in Wadoora area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday.

They said, he was rushed to SKIMS Soura for treatment, where he was put on ventilator and unfortunately succumbed to his injuries this morning.

Meanwhile, police in a statement said, on 05-02-2024, Police Station Bomai received an information through reliable sources to the effect that scuffle occurred between two brothers at Wadoora.

During scuffle, Abid Ahmad Bhat was hit by his brother and got seriously injured. In this regard, Case FIR No. 02/2024 U/S 307 IPC was registered in Police Station Bomai.

The injured was shifted to SDH Sopore where from the injured was further referred to SKIMS for treatment. During medical treatment the injured breathed his last this morning.

The medico legal formalities of the deceased have been conducted and the accused namely Tawseef Rashid Bhat S/O Abdul Rashid Bhat has been arrested in the instant case. Section 302 IPC has been invoked in the case and investigation is going on, the statement added. (KF)
