The Jammu and Kashmir L-G, during his Independence Day speech, also announced that the administration has decided to observe August 5 every year as ‘Freedom from Corruption Day’ across the valley. Continuous drives against corruption will be carried out throughout the year, he added.

While speaking to the media on Monday, the J&K L-G praised the success of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, adding that very less efforts had to be made to convince people to hoist the Tricolour as everyone wanted to do the same.

“There was a massive response and participation from all sections of society for raising the Tiranga everywhere across the valley. Also, personnel of the Indian Army, Border Security Force, Central Reserve Police Force, and Jammu and Kashmir Police participated actively in the campaign,” L-G Sinha said.
