Anantnag, Sep 08 (KF): On the eve of “ACOIN” 12th-Annual National Conference of Community Ophthalmologists of India being held at Pahalgam Convention Centre on 10th and 11th September 2022 and observation of “National Eye Donation Fortnight” (25th August to 8th September) “Vision Chariot” today reached Rural Health Training Centre (RHTC) Sagam and will be covering other areas of Medical block Larnoo.
As part of the programme the “Vision Chariot” will Cover the areas of Medical Block Mattan on 7th September including Urban Health Training Centre (UHTC) Mattan and finally will end on 9th September at Pahalgam after covering the whole of south Kashmir.
Street awareness programmes regarding Eye Care and various diseases which affect the vision is being imparted to general Public and School children as part of the programme apart from door to door campaign. Moreover, Eye Check Up Camps are being held at Community Health Centres (CHC) along with school Eye checkups in various Schools of South Kashmir.
It is pertinent to mention here that “Vision Chariot ” awareness cum Eye Check up programme was flagged off by Principal GMC Anantnag, Dr (Prof) Syed Tariq Qureshi in Presence of HOD Dept of Opthalmology, Dr Manzoor Qadir Keng, HOD Dept of PSM, Dr Iftikhar Munshi and in August presence of Dr Swapan Samanta who is General Secretary of ACOIN, India.
On ground the campaign is being closely run and monitored by Dr Swapan Samanta himself apart from Dr Mehbooba (AP PSM Dept) and Dr Rayees Ahmed (AP Opthalmology Dept with active support of Dr Tajali Shora and Dr Irfa.
The organisers are highly thankful to all members of their team for their vibrant and active participation in the campaign and general Public at large for their active participation in huge numbers. (KF)
