Srinagar, July 11: After remaining suspended for three days due to cloudburst, in which at least 16 people died and dozens were injured, Amarnath Yatra resumed on Monday, officials said here.
An official told that Amarnath Yatra has resumed as fresh batch of yatris was allowed to proceed towards the holy cave from Nunwan Base Camp in Pahalgam today morning.
He said that the yatra resumed at around 8 am, following a slight delay due to rain.
Notably, Yatra was suspended soon after a cloudburst hit at lower Amarnath cave shrine on Friday, in which at least 17 people died, while dozens were injured and fate of around 37 people is still unknown. (KNO)
