Ganderbal, Feb 08 (KF): On Wednesday, the 13th Bn SSB organised a “Flag Off” Ceremony of Bharat Darshan Tour at its Unit HQ premises, in Dignibal, Ganderbal.
Bharat Darshan Tour is an ambitious initiative of Ministry of Home Affairs, wherein the local youths of far flung villages of Jammu & Kashmir are taken on a study tour of different cities where they get into direct interface with the vast and rich cultural heritage of the country.
The physical interaction with different strata of society helps them in enriching their social and cultural vision as future prospects of the nation.
The ceremony was graced by the benign presence of Dr Hina Shafi Bhat, Chairperson J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board, as the Chief Guest.
In his inaugural address, Sh Mukesh Singh Yadav, Commandant 13 Bn SSB, apprised the esteemed gathering with the details and significance of the tour.
The tour comprises of total 25 local youths from the interior villages of Kulmulla, Bakura, Dignibal, Warpoh, besides Gujjar Bakarwal Hostel.
During this seven days tour, the participants will visit historical monuments and important sites in the cities of Jaipur and Delhi.
At the end of tour, they will also get opportunity to meet Director General SSB and other senior officers at Force Headquarters, New Delhi.
Addressing the audience on the occasion, Chief Guest, Dr. Hina Shafi Bhat encouraged the morale of the participants and advised them to make best use of this opportunity for the ultimate benefit of the society.
She also appreciated the efforts of 13th Bn SSB for planning and executing such welfare oriented programmes.
During the event, besides the guardians of the participants, locals from the nearby villages were also present in a large number. (KF)
