MeT predicts significant fall in day temperature in J&K from July 29 onwards

Srinagar, July 25: Meteorological Centre Srinagar Thursday predicted a significant decline in day temperature in Jammu and Kashmir from July 29 onwards. It also predicted spell of rain and thundershower in parts of Jammu & Kashmir for next 1-2 hours.

A MeT official said there are chances of a spell of rain/thundershower over Tangdhar, Doodh Pathri and Khan Sahab of Badgam district; Poonch & Rajouri; few parts of Shopian & adjoining areas during next 1-2 hours.

From July 25th to 26th there is a possibility of brief spell of rain, thundershower at isolated places of Kashmir division, and light to moderate rain & thundershower at scattered places of Jammu division, he said.

From July 27th to 28th partly to generally cloudy with brief spells of rain and thundershower at isolated to scattered places of Kashmir division and many places of Jammu division, he also said.

He further said from July 29th to August 4th generally cloudy with spells of intermittent light to moderate rain/thundershower at many places of Kashmir division and most places of Jammu division.

The official added that there is a possibility of heavy rainfall at few places of Jammu division from July 27th onwards.

“Hot & humid weather to prevail till 26th July over Kashmir division with maximum temperature ranging between 34-36°C,” he added.

He held that a significant fall in day temperature from July 29th onwards is expected.
