Major Roads in J&K Remain Closed Due to Heavy Snowfall

Srinagar, Dec 29 (KF): Several key roads in Jammu and Kashmir continue to be closed due to heavy snowfall and hazardous conditions.

The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44), a crucial link between the two regions, remains shut due to snow accumulation and slippery road conditions between Navyug Tunnel and Mir Bazar.

Authorities have advised commuters to avoid travel on NH-44 until the road is cleared.

A decision on reopening the highway will be taken tomorrow after assessing road conditions and receiving clearance from road maintenance agencies.

Other affected roads include:
Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag NH-244: Closed due to snow accumulation.

Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari Road (SSG Road): Closed due to snow accumulation.

Mughal Road: Closed due to snow accumulation.

Bhaderwah-Chamba Road: Closed due to snow accumulation.

People are advised to confirm the status of the road before undertaking any journey.
