Srinagar, Feb 10: The weather in Kashmir remains cloudy as fewer western disturbances approach the region, bringing the possibility of light snowfall in the higher reaches of North Kashmir’s Kupwara and Baramulla districts. Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district may also witness light snowfall in its higher reaches.
As of now, no significant weather activity is expected in the plains of Kashmir, except for a few places in North Kashmir where light rainfall may occur. The overall weather conditions are expected to remain stable until the evening of February 14.
A fresh western disturbance is likely to affect the region on the night of February 15-16, particularly in the higher reaches of the Valley. However, no major weather activity is anticipated until February 18.
The temperature has shown improvement due to persistent cloud cover, and a gradual rise in both minimum and maximum temperatures is expected in the coming days. (GK)
