Jammu Kashmir Police Initiates Formal FIR Against Facebook Page Admin for Alleged Offenses

Srinagar, March 21 (KF):  The Jammu Kashmir Police have filed a formal First Information Report (FIR) against Mudasir Bashir Bhat, also known as Mudasir Aziz, the administrator of a Facebook page.

As per details from a copy of the FIR, Mudasir Bashir Bhat, son of Bashir Ahmad Bhat from Khayam, Srinagar, has been charged under sections 341 (Wrongful Restraint), 354 (Sexual Assault), 499 (Defamation), and 506 (Criminal Intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The FIR states that the complaint was lodged by an unnamed woman, who operates an NGO named ‘Smile Foundation’, prompting action by the Rainawari Police station.

Investigations are underway, and further updates are anticipated. (KF)
