Jammu and Kashmir Receives Highest-Ever Budget Allocation in Interim Budget 2024-25

Srinagar, Feb 01 (KF): The Indian government has allocated a record-breaking Rs 37,277.74 crore to Jammu and Kashmir for the financial year 2024-25, as announced in the interim budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday.

This marks the highest-ever allocation made to the Union Territory in any budget thus far.

Out of the total allocated amount, Rs 35,619.30 crore is designated to bridge the resource gap in Jammu and Kashmir.

The remaining funds will be directed towards various development initiatives across the region, focusing on infrastructure, healthcare, and education sectors.

This significant budget allocation comes ahead of the upcoming general elections scheduled for April-May 2024. It signifies the government’s commitment to fostering development and stability in Jammu and Kashmir. (KF)
