J&K Police Crack Down on Illegal Betting Racket: ₹2 Lakh Cash, Gadgets Seized; Four Arrested

Jammu, April 01 (KF): In a decisive action against illegal betting, Jammu Police (South Zone) busted a gambling racket in Gandhi Nagar, arresting four individuals involved in unauthorized betting activities.

Acting on a tip-off, a team from Police Station Gandhi Nagar raided House No. 92/C, Shastri Nagar, Jammu, where a betting operation was in progress.

The suspects were found inside a room watching a live IPL match on an LED TV, with Rupees 2 lakh in cash, 08 mobile phones, 01 laptop, and 05 notebooks scattered on the bed.

When questioned about the money and devices, they failed to provide satisfactory answers. As they attempted to escape, police swiftly apprehended them.

Arrested Individuals:

Veer Singh Slathia @ Veer S/O Rajeshwar Singh Slathia, R/O Shastri Nagar, Jammu.

Karan Slathia @ Munna S/O Jasheel Singh, R/O Patolli Gurha Brahmana, Jammu.

Rajesh Slathia @ Rajesh S/O Jasheel Singh, R/O Patolli Gurha Brahmana, Jammu.

Adish Raina @ Adish S/O Bharat Bhushan, R/O Dogra Ground, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.

Seized Items:

✔ ₹2 Lakh in Cash
✔ 08 Mobile Phones
✔ 01 Laptop
✔ 05 Notebooks
✔ 01 LED TV (used for live IPL betting)

A case FIR No. 78/2025 U/S 112 BNS has been registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar, and further investigation is underway.

Jammu Police reiterates its commitment to cracking down on illegal gambling networks and urges the public to report any suspicious activities. Stern action will be taken against those violating the law. (KF)
