“I’ll Accompany You to Tihar, Leave the Ground and Stay Home”: Omar Abdullah to Er Rashid

Srinagar, Sep 13: Former Chief Minister of J&K and National Conference Senior Vice President Omar Abdullah on Monday expressed his readiness to accompany Engineer Rashid to Tihar Jail in New Delhi, urging the latter to “leave the ground and stay home.”

Addressing reporters after attending a public rally in the Chowgam area of Kulgam, Omar Abdullah, accepted Engineer Rashid’s challenge, saying, “I’m ready to accompany Engineer Rashid on October 2nd to drop him off and accompany him to Tihar Jail.”

“Er Rashid had stated that he would leave the ground if I accompanied him to Tihar. I am accepting the challenge. I will accompany him to drop him off. Let him leave the ground and stay at home,” he said.

Omar Abdullah also criticized the BJP for the ‘suffering and disillusionment’ among the people of Jammu and Kashmir, attributing these issues to the BJP’s policies and actions.

“There is only one way to save ourselves from this situation: defeat the BJP and those who are preparing to support the BJP after October 8th,” Abdullah said, adding that his alliance is committed to opposing the BJP, unlike other political entities he accuses of colluding with the ruling party. “We have presented ourselves before the people as a pre-poll alliance to demonstrate that we are not willing to come to power by colluding with the BJP. Others are merely in the field to aid the BJP in one way or another.”

Abdullah called on voters to support the alliance candidates, arguing that their victory would be crucial for protecting J&K from further BJP influence and addressing the injustices that have occurred over the past 8-10 years. “We urge the voters to make alliance candidates win so that we can safeguard J&K from the BJP and work towards rectifying the wrongs that have plagued our region,” he added.
