Home Minister Amit Shah Reviews Security Situation In J&K

New Delhi, June 15: Following a series of terrorist attacks in the Jammu region, Union Home Minister Amit Shah convened a review meeting on June 14 to assess the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir with Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) officials. This follows recent violent incidents that have destabilized the valley.

Sources indicate that Shah will lead another in-depth meeting on June 16 regarding Jammu and Kashmir’s security. Attendees will include National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, senior Army officials, CRPF leadership, and other key figures.

According to newswire PTI, Shah received a detailed briefing on the current security scenario in Jammu and Kashmir and the measures taken in response to the recent terror events.

This meeting took place shortly after Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a session to evaluate the security situation in the region. PM Modi was joined by NSA Ajit Doval and other top officials.

He was provided with a comprehensive update on the security landscape and ongoing counter-terrorism efforts in the area.

The Prime Minister underscored the necessity of deploying the nation’s full counter-terror capabilities to effectively tackle the threats. Following the session, PM Modi and Home Minister Shah discussed strategic security force deployment and operational counter-terrorism strategies.

PM Modi also consulted with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to review the local administration’s actions and the overall on-ground situation.

These high-level reviews were prompted by a recent spike in terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir. In the last four days, terrorists launched attacks in Reasi, Kathua, and Doda districts, resulting in the deaths of nine pilgrims and a CRPF officer, as well as injuries to seven security personnel and several others.
