Srinagar, Apr 23: A fierce gunfight erupted between militants and security forces in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Wednesday, a day after the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives.
According to a senior police official, the exchange of fire took place in the Tangimarg area, where security forces had launched a search operation following intelligence inputs about militant presence. Gunshots were heard in the area, prompting additional reinforcements to be rushed to the site.
The operation is ongoing, and forces have cordoned off the area to prevent any escape. Further details are awaited. (KDC)
