Fruit Vendor Stabbed To Death In Srinagar, Accused Arrested: Police

SRINAGAR, MAY 15 (KF): A man has been stabbed to death in Dalgate area of Srinagar on Tuesday evening while the accused involved in the crime has been Arrested.

Jammu and Kashmir Police said, “The man identified as Bilal Ahmad Guroo, son of Nazir Ahmad Guroo, a resident of Bemina Srinagar, a fruit vendor by profession suffered critical injuries after being stabbed by another fruit vendor during scuffle in Dalgate area of the city. He was immediately rushed to hospital for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries.

“The accused person identified as Hilal Ahmad Shera, son of Riyaz Ahmad Shera, a resident of Tengpora Srinagar involved in the crime has been arrested and the weapon of offence has also been recovered,” they said.

In this regard, a Case FIR No. 70/2024 under Section 302 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered in Police Station Ram Munshi Bagh and further investigation has been taken up.
