Kulgam, July 09: Jammu and Kashmir Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) received a complaint against Fair Price Shop Dealer Pati Bongam Kulgam namely Ajaz Ahmad Malik son of Nazir Ahmad Malik resident of Khuri Batpora area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, for demanding of bribe for release of Ration and for doing KYC.
In his complaint, the complainant alleged that the dealer of the Fair Price Shop was denying and depriving the complainant the monthly ration on the pretext of submitting KYC. The complainant had many a times approached the Fair Price Shop Dealer, but he used dilly dallying tactics and in lieu demanded ₹7500 as bribe.
The complainant arranged ₹4000 and approached ACB for taking necessary action against Fair Price Shop dealer.
On receipt of the complaint, a Case FIR number- 03/2024 u/s 7 of P/C Act was registered at ACB Police Station Anantnag and investigation taken up.
During the course of investigation, a trap team was constituted by this Bureau, which laid a successful trap and caught the accused red handed while demanding and accepting bribe amount of ₹4000 from the complainant.
The bribe amount was also recovered from his possession in the presence of the independent witnesses.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
