BJP Eyes All 5 Jammu & Kashmir Lok Sabha Seats, Opens 6 Election Offices
Srinagar, Jan 27, 2024 (KF): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has officially begun its campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Jammu and Kashmir, aiming to win all five seats in the Union Territory. Senior party leader Ashok Kaul announced the appointment of Dr. Nirmal Singh as the sector in-charge for the five constituencies and the opening of six election offices across the region.
The offices, set to start functioning from January 30th, will serve as operational bases for the BJP’s ground campaign. Kaul expressed confidence in the party’s ability to secure a clean sweep in Jammu and Kashmir, stating, “We will work with the aim of winning all five seats from Jammu and Kashmir for the BJP.”
India Bloc and Gupkar Alliance Dismissed
Kaul also took aim at the INDIA bloc, an opposition alliance formed at the national level, calling it a mere “photo opportunity.” He pointed to the divergent paths taken by regional parties like the TMC in Bengal and AAP in Punjab and Delhi as evidence of the alliance’s lack of cohesion. Similarly, he dismissed the Gupkar alliance in Jammu and Kashmir, claiming it is on the verge of collapse.
The BJP’s aggressive campaign strategy and confident pronouncements indicate their determination to make significant gains in Jammu and Kashmir during the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The party’s performance in the Union Territory will be closely watched as a bellwether for its national ambitions in the 2024 polls. (KF)
