Srinagar, July 27: In an operation, Indian Army troops successfully thwarted an attack by a Pakistani Border Action Team (BAT) on the Line of Control (LoC) in the Macchal sector.
Defence sources have revealed to Asian News International (ANI) that the BAT team involved in the assault likely included regular Pakistan Army troops and Special Services Group (SSG) commandos, known for their close collaboration with terrorist organizations.
The encounter resulted in injuries to five Indian Army personnel, including a Major-rank officer. All five injured soldiers were swiftly evacuated from the location for medical treatment. One of the injured soldiers succumbed to his injuries, as confirmed by Defence officials.
The presence of SSG commandos and their cooperation with terrorist organizations highlight the ongoing challenges faced by Indian forces in maintaining peace and security in the region.
