Anantnag, Oct 22 (KF): The Anantnag Municipal Council has issued a strong warning to residents, business owners, and developers within Anantnag town regarding illegal construction activities.
In an official circular, the Council outlined steps aimed at curbing unauthorized building work to ensure compliance with municipal by-laws and safety regulations.
The Council emphasized that any new buildings, extensions, or renovations must receive prior approval from the relevant authorities. It declared that any constructions started without valid permissions would be deemed illegal, subject to penalties, including demolition.
The circular lists several key actions:
Prohibition of Illegal Constructions: All unauthorized constructions will be treated as illegal, with violations leading to demolition and legal penalties.
Demolition and Penalties: The cost of demolishing illegal structures will be recovered from the responsible parties. Additionally, violators will face heavy fines and possible criminal charges.
No Regularization: There will be no leniency or regularization for any illegal constructions. Regardless of their stage of completion, these structures will be demolished.
Inspection and Compliance: Municipal officials will conduct regular inspections. All construction documents, including permits, must be available on-site for verification. Obstruction of inspections could result in immediate suspension of construction and further penalties.
