ECI Reschedules Counting Date for J&K , Haryana Assembly Elections to October 8

Srinagar, Aug 31: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has rescheduled the counting date for the Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana assembly elections to October 8, following a change in the polling date for Haryana.

According to an official order , the polling in Haryana, initially scheduled for October 1, has been deferred to October 5 after the ECI received several representations requesting the change.

Consequently, the counting of votes for both Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana, originally set for October 4, will now take place on October 8.

The ECI stated that the decision was made to ensure a smooth and efficient electoral process in both states, accommodating the concerns and logistical considerations presented in the representations.
